On Tuesday, October 17th, BASE hosted a valuable event, “BASE’S FIRST TRACK OF GRANTS: MEET THE PARTNERS, GRANTEES, AND RESEARCHERS.” This gathering brought together BASE partners and aligned initiatives, organizations leading local solutions beneficiaries of our first call of grants, researchers who will support in the development of the climate rationale of these solutions with an innovative approach.

The event was also a celebration and had the purpose of allowing the actors involved in this call to get to know each other, from the introduction of our member organizations to the inspiring presentations of the solutions of our allies in Indonesia, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Ecuador, Costa Rica and Brazil. We concluded the event with a brief presentation of the researchers accompanying the projects and the organization that will coordinate the research work.

We had simultaneous interpretation in Spanish, Portuguese, French, English and Indonesian so that we can all speak and listen in our native tongue, and that language is not a barrier to feel close to each other. This event exemplified the network we are building and the shared commitment to accelerate funding local solutions with climate evidence.
